The NEBHUB 2050
NEBHUB 2050 builds on a strong foundation of citizen-centered urban innovation. It emerged from the UrbCulturalPlanning project (2019–2021), which addressed social and urban development challenges in the Baltic Sea region by involving citizens directly in cultural planning.
The project highlighted how cultural planning can drive social innovation, strengthen neighborhood cohesion, and promote sustainable public spaces.
Building on this experience, NEBHUB 2050 has grown through initiatives like Cultural Pearls, Liveability, CCC, UrbCitizenPower, and Rural Cultural Planning, each reflecting a commitment to co-creation, regenerative placemaking, circularity, and public-interest design. Together, these efforts showcase the power of collaborative networks in shaping resilient, liveable, and culturally vibrant communities across Europe.
In essence, NEBHUB 2050 and the Liveable Cities Network are living experiments in collaboration, learning, and transformation, offering cities and communities the tools, connections, and inspiration to reimagine what a truly liveable urban future can be.
